The main objectives of our laboratory are to elucidate parasite-host interaction by investigating the mechanisms of pathogenesis and immune response, cytoadhesion of infected red blood cell, apoptosis, and identify biomarkers with potential importance for early diagnosis and a better prognosis to malaria-associated acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS)
